LoRa: Excellent wall penetration and long-range communication (up to several kilometers depending on terrain) with very low power consumption.However, its low data rate does not allow automatic software updates — they must be done manually via Wi-Fi.The LoRa network requires a LoRa Box to convert your Wi-Fi into a LoRa signal (available on our website, not compatible with other models on the market).
WiFi: High-speed connection, allowing automatic updates of the modules, but with limited range.If you need to reach an area outside Wi-Fi coverage, LoRa will be essential.
Our modules are available in two network options: LoRa or Wi-Fi.
Two networks — but why?
To estimate the Wi-Fi range, place your phone where you plan to install the module. If it barely receives Wi-Fi or the connection is unstable, the module will not be able to connect either — LoRa will be ideal in this case. For an underground meter box, using an external antenna is highly recommended. Contact us for more information.
